Just checked into another LaQuinta in The Woodlands, which is the shi-shi uber-community north of Houston. Lots of money here. Money and fried chicken joints.
The gig last night went splendidly. I introduced Buddy as a "wuss" and let those SFA kids know it was OK to leave the show if he offended them. His idea. Then he ripped it, as usual. I ripped it to a lesser degree, but was saved by Joaquin Z., who gets applause just for saying he's a teacher.
After the show, the kids swarmed Buddy and Joaq, and they sold mad amounts of merch. I just twiddled my thumbs and text messaged folks. After a free dinner, Buddy and I headed back to the hotel to dive into Scrabble. He was talking mad shit. And we put $20 on the game. I won. So double-or-nothing, right? Yep, I won again.
Mmmhmm.
And here were are, about to head up to Conroe for the Bluebonnet Slam. But first, another $20 game and some basketball.
